On Wednesday 27th September, Year 6 went on a trip to Filey as part of our Contrasting Localities topic. The aim of the day was to find out about the similarities and differences between Filey and Batley. We looked at the human and physical features in Filey; learnt about the tourism industry; carried out a traffic survey; interviewed people to find out why they were in Filey and visited the lifeboat station. Fortunately, the weather was superb all day and we got to eat our lunch on the beach, play in the sand and have an ice cream before returning to school. We will be following up this visit with a trip to Batley over the coming weeks.
