The government has given every Primary School funding to develop Physical Education, competitive sport and health. In our school, we are working closely with Legacy Sport and the Kirklees Schools Sports Partnership to improve our sports provision.
Together we aim to:-
Increase the amount of competitive sport in which our children participate.
Develop links to community sports clubs and providers.
Promote leadership skills through sport and provide pathways for both talented children and those with special needs in sport.
Encourage maximum participation in physical activity and deliver health programmes to improve the well-being of our children
In addition, qualified PE instructors and sports coaches have been working alongside some of our class teachers in PE lessons. In this way, our children will gain new skills and experiences and teachers will learn new techniques and knowledge to enhance their teaching of sport and PE.
The long term aim is higher quality lessons and improved learning for all children.
